Introduction and History

DETAILS is the Design/Build Contractor for exceptional architectural statements and interior design, accompanied with the knowledge and skills to construct them into reality. We bring the same detailed attention to all projects large or small, residential or commercial. With over five decades in the building and design fields, and celebrating 40 years (1984) operating DETAILS, our knowledge and experience is vast and varied.

Having graduated from art school in Vancouver with a degree in Design, and trained by master craftsmen in the building industry, Jeff Reves (owner of DETAILS) brings artistry and innovation with an old-world technical background to every project. DETAILS provides full services including: Design consultation, architectural drawing, structural and practical design applications, project coordination and supervision, framing, roofing,electrical, plumbing, energy efficient heating and cooling, interior and exterior wall treatments, stone and tile, flooring, a specialty in finish carpentry and cabinetry, and more.

Jeff Reves is extremely personable, genuinely caring, and dependable. As owner of DETAILS, he has done residential projects on Vancouver Island, Canada; Ventura County, California; Malibu and Beverly Hills, Los Angeles; Tucson, Arizona; and throughout San Diego County. He also contracted commercial work at numerous nationally acclaimed businesses including: Bank of America, The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Geffen Records, LAX, Lehman Brothers, Nordstroms, Robinson May, Sears, Wells Fargo, as well as other office spaces, banks, restaurants, storefronts, medical offices, airports, metro stations, architects’ and designers’ offices, furniture stores, etc.

Jeff has since returned to his passion, innovative home design and construction. He masterfully honors tradition, while incorporating unique creativity in ways that “wow” his clients and maintain their loyalty. His solutions to project challenges are supported by vast and varied experience, and often achieved by thinking outside the box. “Word of mouth” has truly been DETAILS best advertising.

More recently, DETAILS was the prime contractor and designer on a remodel that had taken a 1929 Encinitas neighborhood, iconic residence of 1,400 sq. ft., to a 5,400 sq. ft., multi-story home with pool, etc., on nearly an acre. This being accomplished while keeping, but dramatically and uniquely enhancing, it’s seaside personality. It is also, environmentally advanced in its design by capturing solar for power, and both pool and domestic water heating. Additionally, water is collected for irrigation and laundry from all roofs, uphill hardscape, and street run-off (the first in California).

Encinitas was also the location of two other creatively custom, full remodels, prior to this one. Two more large home reconstructions of distinctive personality were completed in Del Mar, plus numerous smaller renovations throughout S.D. County. Additionally, a number of hardscape and landscape projects have been done, all within the last 15 yrs.
